In January 2006, I entered the Industrial Design program at The Art Insitute of California-Orange County. Industrial Design, or I.D., has been an interest of mine since I was a kid. I just didn't know it existed as a profession until about 17 years ago, when I was already out of art school and beginning what would turn into a 15-year (and still growing) career in bicycle industry journalism. Had I known then what I know now, I'd have started down a career path in I.D. as soon as I returned from Japan in 1991. As it is, I started making this major life change just shy of my 40th birthday.
Here is a smattering of the work I did during my first three quarters at school. Not all of it am I proud of, but it's a solid beginning. I'll be adding more during Spring Break 2007.
